Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 31, 2026
1. Data We Do Not Collect
Purrito never collects:
- Personal information (name, email, address)
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
- Battery or sensor data
- Crash reports
- Location information
- Any form of telemetry or tracking
There are no analytics SDKs or tracking pixels in the Software.
2. On-Device Processing
All battery monitoring and sensor data is processed entirely on your device. Nothing is transmitted or stored remotely.
3. Local Storage
User preferences — selected cat, mute state, tutorial dismissed state — are stored exclusively in macOS UserDefaults on your device. They are never synced or uploaded.
Your license key is stored locally to verify activation on launch. It is transmitted only to Polar's API for validation (see section 5).
4. Network Requests
Purrito makes only two types of network requests:
- License validation — sends your license key to Polar's API to verify activation
- Update checks — uses the Sparkle framework to check for new versions, which may transmit your macOS and app version
5. Third-Party Services
- Polar — handles payment processing and license management. Privacy policy
- Sparkle — open-source update framework. No third-party data sharing. sparkle-project.org
6. Hardware Access
Purrito accesses only:
- Battery status (via IOKit)
- Trackpad scroll events (via NSEvent, for petting gestures)
- Audio output (for purring sounds)
It does not access your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, calendar, Bluetooth, or any other system resource.
7. Children's Privacy
Since Purrito collects no personal data whatsoever, children's privacy protections are automatically satisfied.
8. Changes to This Policy
Updates to this policy will be reflected on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the Software constitutes acceptance of changes.
